Homework has always been a hot topic at our school. Since we have families from so many different countries and cultures, it is difficult to find a common ground in terms of the expectations for the kind and amount of homework children receive.

Our school is trying out a new model for homework, which aims to get the family involved in what we are learning at school. It is thematic, conceptual and inquiry based. I've tried my best to make it easy and accessible for parents. So, I've posted it all on our classroom website. Take a look if you'd like:

  1. This looks like a great idea. I still struggle with the homework issue. Maybe I should consider something like this. Thanks for the idea.

  2. You're welcome Charlene! It really can be a big issue. Parents often have polar opposite opinions on the matter. It just ends up being so time consuming for a teacher, when that time can be better used for planning the learning at school! This homework concept is working really well. Best,
